Arkansas Tech University is one of about sixty universities nationwide, and the first university in Arkansas, to offer the Master of Liberal Arts Degree. The MLA Degree is suited to the student who is interested in graduate study in the liberal arts, but is not interested in a research degree in a specific liberal arts discipline or in a graduate degree in a technical area.

Teachers

The MLA Degree is a particularly useful degree for middle school and high school English, speech, theatre, journalism, and social studies teachers who want to deepen their knowledge of the areas they teach.

Professionals

Engineers, lawyers, and other professionals who have specialized education backgrounds, but who have an interest in the liberal and fine arts, will find the MLA attractive.

Non-traditional

The MLA is also an appropriate degree for individuals who majored in the liberal arts as undergraduates and who want the intellectual stimulation that graduate study provides.
