Please read this information carefully; your grade depends on it.The readings in Literature and the Writing Process (ed. McMahan, et al.) are coordinated with an on-line site that you will be using on a regular basis.
When you go to the site, located at this link, you must first
Click on the book on the left (this should match the book that you bought). When you are ready to answer the questions and write responses to the essay questions, go to the bottom of the site's opening page and select the first letter of the author's last name, and click on this.
You will read about one or more chapters (per week) from Literature and the Writing Process (see syllabus). I will explain to you in each week's module (see syllabus) exactly what quiz you are to take.
The multiple choice answers for the "comprehension quiz" will be submitted to me by e-mail from within the Literature and Writing Process site. These answers will count toward your final course grade. The essay answers to the "essay questions" will be e-mailed to yourself and printed. At the end of the semester, you must collect these essay answers in a binder or folder which you will then mail to me (or you may bring it to my office, 146 Witherspoon). I will grade these essay answers as a whole. Note that there is no required length. Some questions will require more explanation and elaboration than others. I do expect complete and thoughtful answers.
There will be other on-line work, not coordinated with Literature and the Writing Process site that will also be required. For more information, see the weekly activities on the syllabus.
