- By 1910, 10,000 nicklelodeons attracted 26 million customers each week and more than half were controlled by the Patents Company.
- Independents filed lawsuits, imported film stock from France, made longer films, and moved to California to escape Patent Company goons.
- By 1920, Vitagraph was the only surviving Patent Company.
