Prerequisites In order to enroll in English 2013: Introduction to American Literature, you should have successfully completed Engl 1013: Composition I.
	Course Objective: This online version of English 2013: Introduction to American Literature has four primary objectives. to introduce you to representative works of American literature. to strengthen your critical thinking and communication skills through directed readings and analytic writing assignments to increase your understanding of important literary techniques and ideas. to increases your ability to read literature in appropriate cultural, social, and historical contexts.
	Course Outline This course is designed to create a cooperative environment in which students can help one another learn about the selected authors and works. Without your timely and consistent involvement, this cooperative effort will fail. The course syllabus lists assignments and due dates that need to be followed carefully.
